William Anthony McNeil Jr., a 22-year-old Black man, was seen in police bodycam footage being struck in his face several times by Jacksonville law enforcement officers According to ABC News, the violent video shows sheriff’s deputies repeatedly “beating and punching” McNeil during a traffic stop that took place on Feb. 19, 2025. He is heard questioning the officers why he was being pulled over. McNeil then refused to leave his car. T.K. Waters, Sheriff of Jacksonville, said that “the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law,” but noted that the  deputies’ actions are under “administrative review” to determine if they violated “JSO policy.” He also identified the deputy who broke the car window and punched McNeil as Officer D. Bowers. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) “These administrative reviews are ongoing, but the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law, even though the administrative review has yet to be completed,” Waters said during a news conference. “Pending the outcome of this administrative review, Officer Bowers has been stripped of his law enforcement authority,” Waters continued.  Waters did not disclose if the deputies had been placed on suspension or placed on administrative leave.  According to court records, McNeil was arrested and charged with “resisting arrest without violence to his or her person, possessing not more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to use drug paraphernalia, driving while driver’s license is suspended, not wearing a seatbelt, and no headlights in rain/fog/or smoke.” Eventually, McNeil was sentenced to and served two days in jail for “resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license.” Harry Daniels, McNeil’s lawyer, said that his client plans to take legal action. “This officer broke his window and just punched him in his face. Mr. McNeil suffered very significant injury,” Daniels said. “We are planning to do everything we can do to secure justice,” Daniels went on. “We are seeking all options to ensure accountability.”

Bill Cosby speaks out following the passing of actor Malcolm Jamal-Warner. As previously reported, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, the actor who became a household name as Theo Huxtable on the groundbreaking sitcom The Cosby Show, has tragically passed away at the age of 54.  According to TMZ, Warner died while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica after drowning in Playa Cocles, a beach in the Limón province known for its strong rip currents. His death has been officially ruled as asphyxia by drowning. Ennis was shot and killed during a failed robbery attempt.  Wyatt also revealed that the last time Cosby spoke to Warner, he said that he was excited about a concert happening in Minneapolis and “felt like he was changing the world.” According to his rep, Cosby said that Malcolm-Jamal Warner “made a lasting impact with his life and career that will continue to change the world.”  Bill reported says,”every young man growing up in the projects back in the day wanted to be like Warner and to have a family like the Huxtables.” May he rest peacefully.

Tyler, The Creator doesn’t want reviews of his new album after one day. TMZ reports that Raekwon’s HashStoria cannabis dispensary, which opened its doors last November, might be closing up shop for good. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that on Friday (July 18), a judge ruled in favor of the landlord, BMHC LLC, demanding that HashStoria vacate the premises no later than July 1. However, Raekwon doesn’t see it that way and told the outlet, “We were hoodwinked, and while it’s a very sad outcome, we will have our day in court!” According to a representative for the rapper’s HashStoria dispensary, they do plan to sue and claim the initial agreement with the landlord had not been honored. Per Rae’s rep, the back rent was to be “prorated” while the building was under construction, which took significantly longer than expected. HashStoria reached an agreement with BMHC LLC to suspend payments due to zero revenue at the time. Despite allegedly being billed as a “Black-owned business,” HashStoria’s rep says, “communities aren’t owned by people of color and have to deal with constant red tape.” They plan to sue BMHC LLC for violating their rental agreement during construction and “poisoning” their million-dollar operation through the use of illegal vendors. On the other hand, BMHC LLC tells TMZ that they support the court’s decision, stating they provided HashStoria with ample time to pay the rent following the grand opening.

Per TMZ, Robbie Pardlo, a member of the former R&B trio City High, has tragically passed away at the age of 46. A representative close to the singer told the outlet that family and friends surrounded Pardlo during his last moments. Unfortunately, on Thursday, July 17, Pardlo was pronounced dead in Willingboro, NJ. So far, the cause of death has not been shared with the public. However, TMZ reports that the family is currently preparing for his upcoming memorial service, which has yet to be revealed.
