William Anthony McNeil Jr., a 22-year-old Black man, was seen in police bodycam footage being struck in his face several times by Jacksonville law enforcement officers According to ABC News, the violent video shows sheriff’s deputies repeatedly “beating and punching” McNeil during a traffic stop that took place on Feb. 19, 2025. He is heard questioning the officers why he was being pulled over. McNeil then refused to leave his car. T.K. Waters, Sheriff of Jacksonville, said that “the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law,” but noted that the deputies’ actions are under “administrative review” to determine if they violated “JSO policy.” He also identified the deputy who broke the car window and punched McNeil as Officer D. Bowers. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) “These administrative reviews are ongoing, but the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law, even though the administrative review has yet to be completed,” Waters said during a news conference. “Pending the outcome of this administrative review, Officer Bowers has been stripped of his law enforcement authority,” Waters continued. Waters did not disclose if the deputies had been placed on suspension or placed on administrative leave. According to court records, McNeil was arrested and charged with “resisting arrest without violence to his or her person, possessing not more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to use drug paraphernalia, driving while driver’s license is suspended, not wearing a seatbelt, and no headlights in rain/fog/or smoke.” Eventually, McNeil was sentenced to and served two days in jail for “resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license.” Harry Daniels, McNeil’s lawyer, said that his client plans to take legal action. “This officer broke his window and just punched him in his face. Mr. McNeil suffered very significant injury,” Daniels said. “We are planning to do everything we can do to secure justice,” Daniels went on. “We are seeking all options to ensure accountability.”

Raekwon’s HashStoria Dispensary Shuts Down for Unpaid Rent, Plans to Sue
TMZ reports that Raekwon’s HashStoria cannabis dispensary, which opened its doors last November, might be closing up shop for good. Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal that on Friday (July 18), a judge ruled in favor of the landlord, BMHC LLC, demanding that HashStoria vacate the premises no later than July 1. However, Raekwon doesn’t see it that way and told the outlet, “We were hoodwinked, and while it’s a very sad outcome, we will have our day in court!” According to a representative for the rapper’s HashStoria dispensary, they do plan to sue and claim the initial agreement with the landlord had not been honored. Per Rae’s rep, the back rent was to be “prorated” while the building was under construction, which took significantly longer than expected. HashStoria reached an agreement with BMHC LLC to suspend payments due to zero revenue at the time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hashstoria (@hashstoria) HashStoria’s representatives also accused the City of Newark of contributing to the store’s closure by causing several permit delays. In another shocking claim, HashStoria’s rep states that the landlord then allowed an unlicensed dispensary to operate illegally next door, which was frequently raided. HashStoria developed the slogan “Legal AF” in response to allegations of landlord corruption. Despite allegedly being billed as a “Black-owned business,” HashStoria’s rep says, “communities aren’t owned by people of color and have to deal with constant red tape.” They plan to sue BMHC LLC for violating their rental agreement during construction and “poisoning” their million-dollar operation through the use of illegal vendors. On the other hand, BMHC LLC tells TMZ that they support the court’s decision, stating they provided HashStoria with ample time to pay the rent following the grand opening.
Lizzo Opens Up About Her Struggle With ‘Disorderd’ Eating
Earlier this month, Lizzo sat down with Women’s Health to discuss her weight loss, body positivity, and her ongoing health and wellness journey. The “Special” singer revealed to the outlet that finding healthy eating patterns had always been a “challenge” for her. Lizzo purported that she suffered from disordered eating, specifically, binge eating. “There were times when I would eat so much that my stomach hurt. When I was done, I would be so uncomfortable, I couldn’t breathe and wouldn’t let anyone know,” she says. According to Lizzo, she had “so much food noise and connected so much emotion to food.” She continued, “If I were sad, anxious, stressed, or working a lot, I would snack and just eat constantly. And then I would wait for everybody to leave, secretly order two separate meals on a food delivery site, then order dessert on a separate one.” Lizzo noted that there was “a lot of shame and guilt” that she had overcome before finding healthy habits to keep her in check. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lizzo (@lizzobeeating) Today, she would describe her lifestyle as “very sustainable.” She added, “It’s a beautiful balance where it’s like, if you allow yourself to have something, you can enjoy it without overindulging and hurting yourself. I’m so proud of myself for overcoming that.” In June, Lizzo sat down with the Just Trish podcast to address speculation about her physical transformation, making it clear that it had nothing to do with trying to fit into Hollywood’s mold. Reflecting on her past, Lizzo revealed that she attended major red carpets, such as the Met Gala, at her heaviest and never once felt that her size held her back. Confidence was never the issue. But now, she says, she’s stepped into a new chapter where she genuinely feels the compliments she’s always received. “I actually believe the compliments,” she told host Trisha Paytas. Her recent changes, she explained, weren’t just about dropping weight—it was about taking care of herself from the inside out. That meant prioritizing skin care, dental work, and regular gym sessions. “I’ve tried everything,” Lizzo said when asked about Ozempic, but she stressed that her results weren’t the product of any shortcuts. The hard work, discipline, and consistency are what reshaped not just her body, but her mindset.

However, it was not formally released for public consumption until 2001 with the release of their debut album. According to Billboard, the song peaked at No.8 on the Billboard Hot 100. While the young and up-and-coming group spawned two more singles, “Caramel,” which peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100, and “City High Anthem,” the latter single was not as successful as the ones prior and did not chart. That said, the group’s album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance By A Duo or Group, and had reached gold status according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Despite their critical acclaim, the trio would disband while recording their sophomore project. According to Ryan Toby in a 2020 interview, the project “wasn’t as good as the first album” and was “a little rushed.” He added, “There was some turmoil in the group; the vibe and chemistry were off. We decided to walk away.”
